Join us as we recognize Chattanooga State’s Adult Education graduates earning the Tennessee High School Equivalency Diploma. The Graduation is open to the public and will be Thursday, June 18, 7:00 p.m. in the Humanities Auditorium on campus, 4501 Amnicola Highway, Chattanooga.
During Graduation, our Outstanding Student Award, made possible by the George R. Johnson Foundation, will be presented to Noor Whayeb. Noor is an immigrant from Iraq who first came to Chattanooga State’s Adult Education Program in 2008 as an ESL student (English as a Second Language). He has been learning English and working on his GED (high school equivalency) since that time.
According to Suzanne Poteet Elston, Director of Adult Education at Chattanooga state,
“He is a very bright and personable young man and has been eager to come back to the classroom and share his experience with other students. His persistence over six years in reaching his GED goal is a great motivation for others.”
Noor’s next goal is to enter the Pharmacy Tech program at Chattanooga State.
We are proud of our students who will graduate on June 18 and prepare for their next step toward career success!
