First-ever Latin Festival a huge success

On behalf of the Office of International Community Outreach, thank you to our many friends of the College for your unconditional support of Latin Festival 2015. The event was proclaimed by our City and County Mayors as Latin Festival Day, and it was a dream come true for many people within our community.

We were able to combine Latin music, traditions, typical dances, arts, authentic food, a soccer tournament, children activities, a journey for 21 countries for a great first-time event with more than 2,000 people and a diverse crowd — bigger that we ever imagined.

To the countless numbers of people we asked for advice, help and support, you graciously accepted and helped bring Latin Festival to life.

A huge thank you to the Benwood Foundation and Maclellan Foundation for being the first organizations to step forward to believe in our vision. Special thanks to each of the corporate sponsors: EPB, TVA, Brewer Media Group, BCBS of TN Community Trust, Coca-Cola, Chick-Fil-A at Brainerd Village, Chattanooga Zoo, City of Chattanooga, Causeway, Footprint Foundation, Buy Here Pay Here, Erlanger, Cricket, SunTrust and YMCA for making this event successful with your level of contributions. Event proceeds benefit our Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language programs offered by ChattState in Highland Park since 2001.

We are grateful for the many kindness throughout the entire planning and implementation of Latin Festival which relied heavily on volunteers. To our talented army of volunteers – thank you so much!

Please enjoy the following video where Southern hospitality met Latin flair. You will see our community bursting with pride on this milestone for our city.
