“A ROCKET to the brilliant idea of establishing a first-rate hospitality and culinary center at Chattanooga State in loving memory of the late Michael Hennen… and if we can capture Michael’s delightful zest for life in the students the center will hopefully produce, it will be a godsend for our area.” –Roy Exum
“There can be no better namesake than Michael Hennen because he epitomizes hospitality.” -Jon Kinsey
We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support in establishing the Michael P. Hennen Hospitality & Culinary Center at Chattanooga State. On August 30, 2015, one year and one month since the kick-off benefit, a ribbon-cutting and dedication was held on campus. Please enjoy our video highlights from the August 30th dedication held on campus and the July 2014 benefit held at Hennen’s:
A huge thank you for the leadership and passion of Corinne and Tim Hennen, Jon Kinsey, John Foy, and Alexis Bogo, among many others, who helped make this exceptional tribute possible. And a special thank you to our friends at Vision Hospitality for championing a lab hotel room on campus, located down the hall from the new Hennen Center.
Chattanooga State’s Associate of Applied Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management degree will help provide a talent pipeline to the $1 billion a year tourism industry in our community. The new program offers students four different concentrations:
