Jeremy studies Psychology as well as Sociology here at Chattanooga State. His passion for helping others prompted his decision on his major after working with children at the Chattanooga Zoo and through Big Brothers Big Sisters for the past five years. He received a scholarship from Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Quick Facts: 4th semester Secondary Education major, 22 years old
Ashley is a Secondary Education major originally from Columbia, South Carolina. In her spare time, Ashley takes care of her niece and nephew and involves her self in Big Brothers Big Sisters. She chose secondary education after being inspired by her high school economics teacher and hopes to someday impact students in a similar way. Specifically, Ashley would like to work at a high school in the Chattanooga area or work as a social worker for young children. Her favorite course is philosophy and she plans on eventually transferring to UTC to pursue her BA. She will be the first in her family to graduate from college.

Demmy is motivated by the idea of having a better future for her family. She chose nursing after taking time off to take care of her dad and expresses her interests in helping others like him. Demmy moved to Chattanooga from Atlanta and her family is originally from Vietnam. She enjoys working out and her favorite course right now is psychology because can gain better insight on the motives behind certain behaviors. She is planning to transfer to UTC to pursue her BSN and will be the first in her family to graduate from college.
Emily Abel is a journalism student attending Chattanooga State Community College. She opted for a change of scenery from Syracuse, New York in February of 2014 and has since been residing in Chattanooga with her Aunt.
When she isn’t trying to finish school work or her latest art project, Emily enjoys local yoga classes and cooking recipes she found on Pinterest.
As a writer, Emily intends to start her coverage of topics for ChattState Stat while also continuing her independent poetry and prose.
